Visitors to a factory usually look at the machines. The quality of a door is actually decided in the gaps between stations: whether the mill oil was fully removed, how long a panel rested after pressing before it was mounted, where the leaf stood after it left the oven. Following a line end to end also teaches you how to read a quotation.
Sheet preparation and cutting
The line starts by uncoiling and levelling cold-rolled sheet, which relieves internal stress; skip it and leaves twist after pressing. Straight cuts are made on guillotines, patterned and complex profiles on laser. Laser cutting leaves a clean edge and makes fine patterns possible, which is where our custom laser-cut steel doors take shape. Parts must be labelled here; on made-to-order production, part tracking is what prevents mixed shipments.
Folding and pressing
Press brakes form the frame profiles and the leaf edge folds, with bend radius matched to sheet gauge; too tight a radius starts hairline cracking along the fold. Embossed leaves go to die presses where the pattern is struck in one hit. Die maintenance shows directly in the product: a worn die strikes the pattern shallow and leaves bright marks. Our sheet panel door production depends entirely on this station.
Welding and reinforcement
Inner and outer leaf sheets are spot welded, and sparse spot spacing shows as waviness in the face. Vertical and horizontal reinforcement profiles go inside the leaf and the lock case area gets extra sheet backing. Frame corners are MIG welded and ground; a poorly ground corner becomes obvious after coating. Hinge pockets and strike areas are prepared at this stage, never cut later.
Pretreatment and coating
The most neglected section and the one that decides service life. Degreasing, rinsing, phosphating or nano-ceramic pretreatment, then drying, followed by electrostatic powder spray and the curing oven. Conveyor speed matters as much as oven temperature: too fast and the powder does not fully fuse, too slow and the colour burns. At the line exit, film thickness is checked with a magnetic gauge and adhesion with a cross-hatch and tape test.
Panel production
Decorative panels run as a separate line. MDF is CNC-carved, sanded and dust-extracted, then either vacuum-pressed with PVC membrane or sent to the lacquer line. Composite and laminate panels are cut and edged. Panels are mounted to leaves only after they have stabilised; mounting a panel straight out of the press leads to blistering later.
Core, seals and hardware
The core is packed into the leaf with no voids, seal channels are cut and EPDM gasket fitted so it runs unbroken around the corners, the lock case, cylinder, escutcheon and handle are installed and locking points adjusted, hinges are fitted, and the leaf is hung in its frame for the first time. Glazed models receive tempered glass with beads and a sloped frame that drains water outward.
Final inspection, packing and shipping
The hung door is cycled repeatedly to confirm that bolts seat fully, gasket contact is even all round, and the hinges run quietly. Faces are checked for scratches and press marks. Accepted doors are packed with leaf and frame separate, corner protected and prepared for vertical handling, with glazed panels crated apart. Export orders use moisture-barrier wrapping and vertical stowage, dispatched from our Istanbul yard by truck within Europe and the Balkans or by container to more distant markets. Send your door schedule and opening sizes in centimetres and we will quote to your measurements and tell you how many doors fit your container.
