Mercek presents a striking modern pattern on a white ground, three diamond-shaped, lens-like glass cuts arranged diagonally, shrinking in size as they move from the wood-toned left frame toward the white field on the right. Thin horizontal lines divide the panel into even sections for an orderly backdrop.
The slim vertical handle sits on the wood-toned strip down the left side, sharing it with two cylinder locks. The three lozenges are set on a diagonal, so light from the landing crosses the door at different heights through the day - worth something when the hallway inside has no window of its own.
On a wider opening we space the glass further apart rather than tilt the diagonal.
