Mihver draws a strong X across a dark rosewood-toned surface, with diagonal lines connecting the four corners of a rectangular frame, meeting at the exact centre where a small square frame holds an eight-pointed star medallion. The composition carries a clear, technical character, like the axis of a compass or a map.
The silver-grey laser-cut lines create a sharp contrast against the dark wood field. A small peephole and a round lock cylinder sit near the top.
The diagonals tie the four corners together and leave a star at the centre, so Mihver takes its pattern from the geometry of the frame itself. Because the lines are fixed to the corners the design re-proportions itself with the size - the X always runs corner to corner.
