Kafes draws attention with a thinly framed rectangular panel at the centre of a golden oak-toned surface, filled with a seamless tessellation of interlocking star and hexagon shapes. The geometric weave gives the door an orderly, technical character reminiscent of lattice or grille work.
The cream-coloured laser-cut lines read clearly against the warm wood field. The black handle stands upright on the left edge, and a small opening is cut at head height.
The star tessellation repeats inside the panel without leaving a single gap, and that perfect fit is where Kafes gets its appeal. The pattern has to end on a whole repeat, so we size the panel to the repeat rather than to the frame and leave the remainder to the oak around it.
