Kumtaşı brings an orderly division to a calm taupe-grey-brown surface with four thin horizontal silver strips. A wide brushed stainless band across the lower third gives the composition its centre of gravity and carries the horizontal bar handle.
The soft, neutral character of the taupe tone gives a natural, calm impression reminiscent of sandstone surfaces. A small peephole sits above, next to a round lock cylinder.
Taupe is neither dark nor light, so the door neither shows the grime of a worn landing nor looks like a stranger in a freshly painted one. Four strips divide the face into five equal fields, which makes it read as more ordered than a single flat colour.
