Kristal sets a dark walnut vertical strip straight down the centre of a white lacquered surface for a strong contrast, its top and bottom ends cut into diamond points that blend back into the white field for an elegant transition. A symmetrical gold-toned carved pattern repeats down the length of the walnut strip, with a polished twisted bar handle just below it.
The vertical walnut strip splits the white lacquer straight down the middle, and that single move leaves the door neither fully modern nor fully classical. Its width is worked out with the leaf: a wider door gets a thicker strip, otherwise it is lost in all that white.
