Bazalt pairs an anthracite grey frame with a patina-textured panel where blue, brown and grey tones blend like oxidised metal or natural stone. A short light-wood strip crosses the centre, holding a polished stainless mail slot that breaks up the abstract texture.
Frameless glass panels run floor to ceiling on both sides, bringing light and transparency to the entrance, above a polished granite-look threshold. The patina is not the same anywhere on it, so the door looks less like painted metal than a plate that has aged, and as a street door Bazalt carries that impression.
The side glazing is sized to the project: we ask how much light the entrance already gets and widen or narrow the glass accordingly.
