Tezhip carries two thinly framed square panels, one above and one below, on its walnut-toned surface, each filled with a fine copper-toned tessellation of interlocking eight-pointed stars. The pattern's seamless repetition recalls the infinite motifs of traditional Turkish illumination art, giving the door a rich character.
A wide black band crosses between the two panels and carries a straight vertical bar handle; the viewer is set dead centre in the upper square, landing at eye height without upsetting the symmetry. The plain walnut band between the two squares lets the copper-toned star lattice breathe, so the door stays rich without looking crowded.
The handle falls inside that empty band, which keeps hands off the fine work in the panels.
