Nakış splits the door face into a warm walnut-toned wood panel and an anthracite grey panel, the latter carrying one large damask floral motif running down its centre, capped by thin horizontal lines at top and bottom like the border of an embroidery piece. The finely branching leaf and flower forms create an elegant silhouette against the dark field.
A vertical black handle runs down the left side of the wood half; kept plain next to the busy embroidery motif, it leaves the pattern in front. A small peephole is cut just above it.
One flowering motif runs the full height of the leaf, so a plain wall suits Nakış better than a big mirror or picture competing next to it. When the leaf is shorter the drawing is redrawn in proportion rather than cropped.
